KENORA MEN’S SOCCER TOURNAMENT 2024

DATE:  JULY 18, 19, 20 and 21st (out-of-town teams play evening of 19th -21st)

LOCATION: Tom Nabb fields (1465 Valley Dr, Kenora, ON P9N 2X4)

ENTRY FEE: $800
– Deposit of $400 must be in by June 30th, 2024
– Full entry fee is due paid in full by July 12th, 2024
– Teams will not be officially registered until payment has been received and cleared
– Payment is accepted via cheque, cash, or e-transfer (e-transfer to kenoramenssoccer@gmail.com)
– Entry payment is non-refundable if notice is given after July 12th, 2024. If unable toattend after payment, the team must try and locate a replacement team.

This is an UNSANCTIONED TOURNAMENT.
– Open to MMSL DIV 2 – 8 or the equivalent in Ontario or other Leagues
– This is a Kenora Men’s Soccer League Tournament
– The Kenora Men’s Soccer League Executive is the governing body of this tournament
– The KMSL Executive committee will be responsible for the governance and adjudication of any disputes the may arise during the tournament
– The KMSL Executive is an independent committee, and all decisions are finale
– This tournament follows the rules and guidelines set out by FIFA (through IFAB –International Football Association Board).
– Local teams play their first game Thursday July 18th, out-of-town teams play their first game Friday, all teams play a minimum of two games Saturday, unless prior arrangements are made
– This tournament is by invite only. Please conduct yourself with sportsmanship and class.
– Failure to follow tournament guidelines and unruly behavior may result in ejection from the tournament and banned from future tournaments
– This is a family friendly tournament
– Please keep the fields clear of garbage

TOURNAMENT SIZE:
– Maximum of 16 teams, a minimum of 6.
– If the max number of teams are reached, teams will be divided into 4 groups of 4 teams
– If the minimum is achieved, 2 groups of 3 will be made.
– If 8 teams are entered, 2 groups of 4 will be created.
– If there are between 10 and 15 teams, a format will be created and each team will be informed once the payment deadline has passed.
– Each team will play each team in the group once to qualify for the next round
– Each team is guaranteed 3 games
– Each team must submit a complete roster by July 12, 2024, and complete the waiver.
– Roster must include players full name and number. This will be included with the waiver.

PRIZING: based upon 8 teams (minimum prize allocations)
1. 1st PLACE: $1500
2. 2nd PLACE: $1000
3. 3rd PLACE: $500

FORMAT:
– Teams will field 11 players
– Unlimited substitutions allowed at the referee’s discretion
– All games will consist of (2) 30 min halves.
– Semi-finals will be two 35 min halves. With two 10 min extra time halves
– The finals will be two 45 min halves (unless both teams agree to less). With two 10 min
extra time halves. Penalties will follow if both teams are tied.

OTHER INFO:
– A VEO camera will be recording some games
– Friday night tradition has a “shotgun shootout” (participation is voluntary). Entry is one
case of beer.
– Saturday night will have a “fundraiser/social” at the new Brewer’s Village, that’s located
right beside the field. It will also be open during the day. Live music during the evening. A cover fee is required for entry.
– The women’s league tournament will be occurring the same weekend.
A full list of tournament rules and game schedule will be sent after successful registration to the tournament.
This tournament is a Kenora Men’s Soccer League tradition and always enjoyable.
